The Eritrean UK Festival, was held at a time of great historical and cultural significance to Eritreans, it showcased the socio-economic and traditional values of the people of Eritrea— promising to be an unforgettable must see event for all.
Eritreans in the UK looking forward to see each other post covid restrictions have had their options with Independence Day celebrations, now festival and the much awaited travel to Eritrea.
Many in their thousands continue to travel to Eritrea to see their loved ones and renew their commitment to country and government.
The Eritrean festival in the UK kicked off in London yesterday the 23rd of July with great patriotic zeal. The festival was officially opened with the presence of Mr Habteab Tesfatsion Governor of Eritrean southern region, Ambassador Estifanos Habtemariam and members of the Embassy together with community leaders.
The festival continued today in a relaxed and family atmosphere with the same energy sports activities, cultural shows bazaars and kids playing with each other. Various Eritrean businesses showcased their products, other activities and side events also continue providing their services to participants. A seminar by Mr Tewolde Yohannes head of public and community affairs was also held to representatives of Eritrean communities from all over the UK.
This year’s festival Is unique in every sense with Eritrea overcoming many challenges and those who had in the past were in the wrong path had hatched their differences and renewed their pledges with government and people of Eritrea to stand shoulder to shoulder and quash the enemy’s agenda once and for all.
