THE 11TH EDITION OF MADAGASCAR ISLAND GAMES IN RANOMASIMBE INDIANA – Theme: Kanetibe
The competition ended today, the Malagasy national team won two more gold medals.
Vontovorona, 01/09/2023 – The new gold medal for Madagascar was one after another according to the victories of the national team of throwing sticks during these Island Games. The final rounds of the trios were held today and each qualified for the gold medal in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Result : Madagascar won all the gold medals contested today, bringing the total number of gold medals won by Madagascar in the Kanetibe event to seven.
Today’s competitions concluded the competition in the category of Kanetibe Throwing at the 11th Island Games. In total, Madagascar won 7 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals.
There are only 9 gold medals that were contested and Madagascar was the first to win medals in this event Tsipy Kanetibe.
These medals were presented by the two ministers who guarded Tarja Tsipy Kanetibe, the Minister of Natural Resources and Strategic Resources RAKOTOMALALA Herindainy Olivier and the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Law Richard Jean Bosco Rivotiana. Various officials from the two former ministries and representatives of supporters and partners also came to support the Malagasy teams during the Malagasy national team’s participation in the Island Games.
RUGBY
The wife of the President Mialy RAJOELINA and her delegation came to honour the island game in the field of long football that was held at the Makis stadium, the Minister of Public Works, the Minister of Technical Education and the Minister of Population SOAFILIRA Princia guardian of the long ball theme.
Four teams competed against each other: Mayotte, La Reunion and Mauritius and Madagascar, so all the Malagasy national teams qualified for the final stage.
